Riverside Park
💙✨ WARD 3, I’m Viola STONE and I’m running to be your next Council person, on the team of Democrats PUTTING PISCATAWAY WORKING FAMILIES FIRST! ✨💙
The water at Riverside Park is contaminated and our current representative has done nothing to solve this problem. She said “it’s not a Piscataway issue.” We deserve better representation!
We won’t pass the buck — we will FIGHT for what our community needs and deserves! 💪🏽🏛️Piscataway working families deserve leaders who show up, speak up, and never back down! That is exactly who we are!
❤️VOTE for real leadership. VOTE for Change in Piscataway. On or by June 2, VOTE for Viola Stone for Piscataway Ward 3!

Issues
-
STAND UP TO TRUMP and refuse to let ICE use our township resources to carry out his agenda. We’ll use our power to help our neighbors and keep us safe. No ICE warehouses in Piscataway!
-
END DONOR AND DEVELOPER GIVEAWAYS, like sweetheart PILOT deals and warehouse developments, that drain our school resources and shift Piscataway’s taxes to the rest of us. Enough is enough!
-
MAKE PISCATAWAY AFFORDABLE for working families and seniors by ensuring corporations and billionaires pay their fair share. I will be a local leader for national and state policies, like Medicare for All, that lower costs for us all.
-
STOP YEARLY PROPERTY TAX REVALS that burden working families and undermine housing affordability for homeowners.
-
ENFORCE & EXPAND RENT CONTROL and advocate for tenants’ rights; renters deserve to be heard and have safe, secure homes in our communities.
-
HAVE AN INDEPENDENT ETHICS BOARD so we have real ways to stop nepotism, cronyism and corruption in our local government. For 50 years, Piscataway’s entrenched machine has allowed the Mayor to select the Ethics Board. It’s time to end that loophole.
-
INSTALL SPEED BUMPS to stop speeding and protect our children and pets; adopt other common-sense solutions to local problems that work in other communities.
-
USE EMAIL FOR COUNCIL BUSINESS and be accessible and responsive to all residents. My opponent hides from us, using a generic email address council@piscatwaynj.org and often won’t respond in writing. You deserve an accessible, accountable representative!
-
BE AN INDEPENDENT VOICE for our WARD 3 neighbors and community, not a rubber stamp for the Mayor! I’m very concerned that the known water issues at Riverside Park have been ignored by our current representative and that the River Road truck ban is not well enforced.

About Me
I’m a lifelong Piscataway resident and I am committed to building a community that is safe, affordable and responsive to all the people who live here. I graduated from Piscataway High School, earned my Bachelor of Science degree in business with a minor in management at Norfolk State University and pursued a master’s degree in business at Strayer University. I’m a proud homeowner and mom, having raised my daughter Jasmine here. I have over 25 years’ experience in Property Management.
I understand the challenges facing Piscataway’s working families and the opportunities that smart, transparent local leadership can create. A lifelong Democrat and small business entrepreneur, I know that our local government can do more to meet the needs of our neighbors launching their futures and their dreams. I’m an active participant in our community, including:
-
Volunteering as a Trustee member of the historic River Road Rescue Squad, one of our community’s longest serving volunteer emergency services institutions. I am a Trustee at the Rescue Squad, where I organize outreach events, public education and support to the Squad and the neighbors we assist.
-
Leading the Piscataway Progressive Democratic Organization as our grassroots group’s Recording Secretary.
-
Participating as an active member of Piscataway’s Well Church, led by Pastor Marlon Wilson and executive pastor, Keena Wilson on the usher board and supervising the Kitchen Committee.
-
Serving for two years as Treasurer for Quibbletown Middle School PTO. • Mentoring young girls in the “Precious Jewels” program and volunteering at homeless shelters in our area.
I am running to represent Ward 3 on our Township Council so we have a strong advocate, not a rubber stamp. I believe our government works best when it listens to the people it serves, ensuring every voice is heard and respected.
Thank you for being an engaged voter in this challenging time.
